Local Employment And Economic Stimulus:
The Caribbean Group believes
that the development of the Island of Culebra should be achieved by
the people who reside there; this will be done by employing local contractors
that will take advantage of 100% of the building effort.
Our company
and its subsidiaries have been helping hundreds of families create autonomous
lifestyles for over 10 years.
With this effort in mind we will use some the following steps for local employment:
- Use local municipality job placement services
- Interview the islands 5 development companies
- Hold employment work shops
- Advertise employment positions via email, print and radio
Businesses on the island will be immediately impacted by the positive economic windfalls, such as lodging, transportation, and restaurants. Culebra is very unique with its low crime, friendly environment and its consistent tourism following. We will work with other local business on the island to help support the extra influx of commerce.
Our Promise To The Local Sellers And To The Government:
- Our project will provide sustained local employment driven by new retail services and property maintenance. We anticipate that approximately 20 to 30 service positions would be established to support the ongoing maintenance of the developed residential property and adjacent retail businesses.
- We will establish a much needed efficient transportation between Puerto Rico and Culebra. Our development plan is to establish a reliable system of wholly owned or franchised air and water taxis to transport residents, guests and support staff between the main island of Puerto Rico and the Port of Culebra daily.
- We will utilize local and naturally available materials for construction and landscaping. The Caribbean Group promised local authorities that we will utilize raw materials that are indigenous and/or complementary to the naturally occurring landscape of the island.
- We are committed to preserving and promoting protected and environmentally favorable natural resources and wildlife. We recognize the unique and delicate nature of the island’s ecosystem and have promised to the local authorities that we will not only avoid any disturbance but look for opportunities to protect and promote the island’s precious coral and animal habitat.
